Webtec awards first Roy Cuthbert Arkwright Engineering Scholarship to Theo Ashcroft, from the Perse School, Cambridge

The scholarship, named after Webtec’s late founder, Roy Cuthbert, was presented to Theo Ashcroft at a prestigious awards ceremony in London in November 2013, organised by the Arkwright Scholarships Trust , whose aim is to ‘Inspire future leaders in Engineering’.

Their MD, Martin Cuthbert said, “I’d like to warmly congratulate Theo for winning the first ever Roy Cuthbert Arkwright Scholarship and I’d also like to thank the Arkwright Trust for their tireless work in promoting careers in engineering to secondary school children, which is entirely in keeping with Roy’s passion which was, ‘Come what may, there will always be a need for Engineers’”. The Scholarships were awarded to the new Scholars by Jonathan Firth, Director of Operations & Projects at Virgin Galactic (London) and Gordon Masterton OBE, Vice President of Jacobs Engineering (Glasgow).
